Illuminate by Aimee Agresti: Review

Back from my break! Here's a rant for you :)
Haven Terra is a brainy, shy high school outcast. But everything begins to change when she turns sixteen. Along with her best friend Dante and their quiet and brilliant classmate Lance, she is awarded a prestigious internship in the big city— Chicago—and is sent to live and work at a swanky and stylish hotel under the watchful eyes of a group of gorgeous and shockingly young-looking strangers: powerful and alluring hotel owner Aurelia Brown; her second-in-command, the dashing Lucian Grove; and their stunning but aloof staff of glamazons called The Outfit.

As Haven begins falling for Lucian, she discovers that these beautiful people are not quite what they seem. With the help of a mysterious book, she uncovers a network of secret passageways from the hotel’s jazz-age past that leads her to the heart of the evil agenda of Aurelia and company: they’re in the business of buying souls. SO I'm not going to be posting anything for a while, because there's so much excitement going on!
I'm working on a book I'm starting to love, I'm starting a new year at college next week, I've got a new website coming up (for stories only, so I'll still be writing this one) and with so much happening, I just have to take a break!
My target is about 25000 words more on my book before I have to start college, and that's not going to happen unless I really put my heart and soul into it. It'll at least be a week until I'm back and that's not much time, sure, so this is just for the people who send me regular emails and comments and will wonder where I am with my replies.
Have a fun week or two, see you soon!

It's no secret that I adored Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Adored it, read it five times, drew every character in my notebooks, secretly wrote fan fiction that I later hid because I have a tiny problem with bringing fan fiction out into the light. If you haven't read this book, go read it. You'll get karmic points for loving it, I promise.

Days of Blood and Starlight. Say it out, real poetic.

Days of Blood and Starlight. More Karou and Akiva and Zuzana. More wishes and worlds and wings and wonder. More of Laini Taylor's absolutely gorgeous writing. Ah, sigh of bliss.

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed "Daughter of Sm…
